American photographer David Montgomery was born and raised in Brooklyn, but it’s only after moving across the pond that he established himself as one of the decade’s preeminent photographers of youth culture and rock ‘n’ roll, taking portraits of everyone from the Rolling Stones, Paul McCarntney and Jimi Hendrix to Twiggy and David Hockney. In the decades that followed, his list of famous sitters would grow to include A-list actors, politicians, and even the Queen. David is featured on WePresent as part of The Backstage Sessions, a collaboration between WeTransfer Studios and the legendary photographer Rankin. The three-part video series explored the craft of capturing musicians on film.
