Darcy Whent is an artist based in Bristol. Born in Blaenavon, Wales,painting became her outlet for the feelings she struggled to express elsewhere in secondary school. Now, the studio is the only place she can sit comfortably in silence with her thoughts as she paints on canvases bigger than herself. Her works are marked by their sugary colors and fantastical features—from ribbons and frills to hooves and serpents—they are a space for her to recall and process the memories that made her who she is today.
