Born and raised in Coventry, British-Sri Lankan cook and entrepreneur Cynthia Shanmugalingam is the founder of Kitchenette, a start-up that helped people who wanted to open a restaurant make their dream a reality. In 2018, WePresent and director Alex Webb followed Cynthia to Sri Lanka as she sought out inspiration for her own restaurant, Rambutan—an exciting dining concept that remixes traditional Sri Lankan cuisine—and turned the journey into a documentary short.
