Copenhagen-based artist and graphic designer Caroline Vang pushes the potential of CGI, creating super-detailed semi-organic forms with intriguing textures and glistening reflectionst. Though strange and surreal, they seem organic, tactile, and oddly familiar—you feel you could almost touch or smell them. Starting with hand-drawn shapes, she deforms them digitally before refining them and creating backgrounds, constantly experimenting with textures and colors. Inspired by the strange surfaces she encounters in the everyday, she builds a store of close-up photos to provide inspiration for her “digital craftsmanship.”
“I really enjoy working on that fine line between something that looks unrecognizable, yet has an organic feel to it.”
