Bess Adler is a documentary photographer and photojournalist based in Brooklyn, whose work explores the intricacies of communities around the world. She’s aimed her lens at bodybuilders and carnivals, at migrant issues in Haiti and groups of Taiwanese-American immigrants. We featured a series that took her closer to home, as she photographed tight-knit communities of Bridge players across New York, exploring the vital social opportunities they give their players, and highlighting why it’s so important the clubs that took such a hit during the pandemic manage to find their feet again.
