Ángeles Ortiz is a product designer, having traveled for years as a nomad to countries such as Spain, Italy and Denmark, where she studied and practiced in art, design and curation. Now part of AOS, a creative studio based in Ecuador, her focus is on making objects which are not the kind of things you would easily make use of in daily life, from floating chairs to see-through cages. Notable pieces include “Glass Stool” and “Metamorphosis,” both explorations of testing the limits of objects.
“My designs aren’t really practical. When I find something I want to say, I focus on that.”
