Sudanese rapper Amir Obe, previously known as Phreshy Duzit, divides his time between the city he was born in, Detroit, and Brooklyn, New York, where he moved when he was only 17. Fast forward to today, and he’s toured with PARTYNEXTDOOR and collaborated with Drake on Star67 which ended up on “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.” By March 2016, Obe had released a third EP (“Won't Find Love in the Hills”) and in March 2017, Amir released his EP “None Of The Clocks Work.” We spoke to him about how escaping the hustle and bustle of New York to spend some time in his birthplace of Detroit impacted his creativity.
