Alex Kurunis is a London-based documentary, portrait and fashion photographer. Born in Greece, raised in England, his dual heritage has informed his eye for photography, and having graduated in Social Anthropology, his work remains rooted in social documentary, human interaction, and traditions or customs that bring people together. We featured his project “The Gelina of Ribnovo,” which captures tradition and modernity colliding at a traditional Pomak wedding high in Bulgaria’s Rhodope mountains.
