Starting her career as a Barrister, Norwegian-born Afua Hirsch is a force to be reckoned with—she is a writer, broadcaster, and formerly a Guardian journalist, Social Affairs and Education Editor for Sky News, and war correspondent. As a writer, Hirsch has authored multiple cover stories for Vogue, Time Magazine, and is a regular contributor to the New York Times, and The Guardian. Afua’s work often touches upon the zeitgeist; spanning race, age, and gender (with a focus on womxn in the workplace) and as such, as part of our 2020 Ideas Report launch, we commissioned Afua to pen an essay that questioned whether doubt is evenly distributed between men and women in the workplace.
