Photographer, filmmaker and Boston native Zackary Canepari specializes in documentary and editorial projects. His style has him in demand from publications such as the New York Times, The Guardian and TIME Magazine, and as a director his clients include K-Swiss, RayBans, Adidas, and NPR. His documentary series “California is a Place” (2009) created with filmmaker Drea Cooper was featured as part of the Sundance Film Festival's New Frontiers section and was nominated for the IDFA DocLab award for Digital Storytelling. The pair collaborated again to make “Flint is a Place” with Jessica Dimmock: a cross platform episodic documentary series about Flint, Michigan. Borne from the feature documentary “T-Rex,” “Flint is a Place” gives viewers an even deeper dive into the systems and people within Flint, a place with a strong identity and deep scars. Zackary and his co-directors shared their experience of making both with WePresent.
