The Spice Girls are a British girl band that formed in 1994, composed of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, and Geri Halliwell. Having broken through as a teen pop phenomenon in the nineties, the band have released multiple albums and toured the planet. They’ve sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them the best selling girl group of all time. Each member has since become a solo star in their own right, working in the worlds of television, radio, fashion and beauty. In 2019, the band reunited (excluding Victoria) for the Spice World tour of the UK and Ireland. To mark the occasion, we interviewed the tour’s costume designer Gabi Slade and the art director Aries Moross, who had been tasked with visually reinventing the 1990s’ most iconic band for a 21st century live show.
