Since their formation in 2011, British jazz group Sons Of Kemet have become renowned for their visceral sound, energetic live performances, and political messaging relating to decolonization, systemic racism and other issues. Led by saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, the band has toured globally, and in 2018, their sophomore album, “Your Queen Is a Reptile” was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. In 2022, Sons of Kemet appeared on WePresent as part of From The Basement, a series of live sessions produced with Nigel Godrich.
