Shane Keisuke Berkery is familiar with the spaces where Eastern and Western cultures meet. The Irish-Japanese contemporary artist draws on his mixed heritage to paint scenes that reflect on his own personal history. We discovered Shane after a series of figurative paintings based on candid snapshots that his grandfather took of everyday life in 1950s and 60s Japan. Shane is represented by The Molesworth Gallery, and was named in the "Irish painters under 30 to watch" by RTÉ Culture.
