An investigative journalist and photographer, Lynzy Billing is mostly based between Afghanistan, Iraq and the Philippines, where she carries out much of her work. Her focus is on sociocultural and political issues, and she’s reported on everything from the Taliban to the illegal trade of newborn babies. In a special report for WePresent, Lynzy told the story of The Golden Gays, a charity that supports elderly gay men in Manila by assisting with housing, health awareness and skills training. With her camera under her arm, she attended one of the Golden Gays’ drag show fundraisers, where they encouraged their members to glam up and feel young again. Lynzy has worked for TIME, the Washington Post, New York Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and many more.
