French designer and artist Fanélie Muselier works across video and illustration in a style she calls “sunny graphic design.” Inspired by the colorful work of Ellsworth Kelly, Peter Blake, and Memphis Group founder Ettore Sottsass, as well as the sun-kissed landscapes of her hometown of Marseille, she creates her own abstracted interpretations of realistic images in vivid color using alcohol pens. Along with personal projects such as “Cata” – a series that translated images of natural disasters into fuzzy patterns – Fanélie has created an animated music video from 1,740 hand-drawn frames, and completed commissions for It’s Nice That and Wired Japan.
