London-based cartoonist and illustrator David Biskup’s playful doodles make use of thick, black lines, vibrant color, and simplified figures. His editorial work has appeared in the New Yorker, MIT Technology Review, The Guardian, and Zeit Magazin, and he counts Apple, Google, Facebook, OK Cupid, and Stella McCartney among his commercial clients. In 2020, with the support of a grant from WeTransfer and the East London Comic Arts Festival, David authored “There’s Only One Place This Road Ever Ends Up,” a comic that tells the difficult story of how his fiancée became ill, and how they both had to deal with the uncertainty that comes with living with disability. We made a short film about the book’s creation, directed by filmmaker Carlos Jimenez.
