London-based director and photographer Daniel Ali has traveled the world documenting the dramatic stories of everyday people, from skateboarders to witches in Uganda to cymbal-makers in Istanbul. Alongside his personal projects, he has worked on productions for Levi’s, the Tate, and New Balance. Daniel featured on WePresent in 2016, when we spoke to him about “A Million Waves,” a documentary short about one of the few young female surfers in Sierra Leone, which he created with photojournalist and filmmaker Louis Leeson.
