Bieke Depoorter is a Belgian photographer. She received a Master’s degree in photography from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, and was one of the youngest ever photographers to become a Magnum member in 2012. Between 2008 and 2016, she travelled across Russia, the United States and Egypt, creating three distinct photographic projects united by the same concept: to allow her to travel further on less money, every night was spent in a complete stranger’s home. We featured her project “The Beds I Slept In,” featuring shots of the rooms she stayed in during those years.
