Although Alice Tye grew up in Kent, she spent her formative years daydreaming of the bright and bold California that she saw portrayed in pop culture. Alice is an illustrator and painter whose fascination for the West Coast has grown organically with her work as an artist and illustrator; it’s there in her lithographs of California views and an incredibly detailed four-meter long painting of La Jolla Road, Los Angeles (created through an extensive study of Google Street View.) Alice is fascinated by the idea of the relationship between the world we see in popular culture and the reality of that world. Her creations have been exhibited across London, and she has produced work for brands and publications such as Moët Hennessy, Airbnb and The Guardian.
