Jingyu Lin is a photographer originally from the Chicago suburbs. As a daughter of Chinese immigrants, she strives to tell stories that reflect her own experiences growing up Asian-American while breaking away from industry tropes, and her portraiture style champions texture and minimalism, as her focus on the subject’s expression (rather than the theatrics around them) leads to an arresting simplicity.
