Federico Borella is a freelance photojournalist from Italy. His work has been published internationally, in publications such as the New York Times, National Geographic, Newsweek and Time Magazine. In 2019 he was named Photographer of the year at Sony Photography Awards. We featured his project, made in collaboration with Michela Balboni, that documented the people keeping the age-old tradition of the “tree men” alive in the remote Italian countryside.
